What technical skills Require to support HTML5?

  • Web designers and developers who know HTML, XHTML, CSS and Javascript are well positioned to transition to HTML5. If you don’t have these skills in-house, you may want to think about adding them.
  • Increasingly, web development will become a core requirement for publishers looking to extend their content across multiple platforms. The skills of developers experienced in Flash and other plug-in technologies may be less transferable to an HTML5 environment.

Web software, HTML editors, Web editors, Web designers, XML schema, XML tutorials

  • If you have Flash developers on staff, keep them — they’ll still have plenty of work to do for the foreseeable future. If you outsource Web design and development, make sure your agency is ramping up its HTML5 expertise.
